Winners All Right

A hearty congratulations to the wonderful authors of The Story of Brosna GAA book who received the GAA’s highest national  honour for a club publication.

The awards night was deferred from 2020 due to pandemic madness but at long last, Anne Nash, Carl Nash, Mary Kiely and Mary Scanlon were able to have their moment in the spotlight.

This wonderful book contains over 400 parish images and is more than a book about football.

It’s a slice of our community’s history.

Anyone wishing to purchase a copy can contact Brosna GAA Club treasurer, Kay Walsh who has a limited number of copies still in her care.

It might just be the ideal Christmas gift you’ve been looking for. Please email Kay on  Treasurer.brosna.kerry@gaa.ie.

Hall Of Fame Packed for Sam Visit

Our Parish get-togethers seem sweeter than ever before.

Welcoming Sam Maguire to our village along with the illustrious Paudie Clifford and Lorraine Scanlon.

The Hall was packed to capacity. More than once I heard someone say ‘Isn’t it great to be able to meet up again; and isn’t it the truth.

The evening was co-ordinated by Brosna’s Coiste na nOg chairman, Seamus O’Connor and it was a happy and celebratory event.

So many happy children and their proud parents attended. As well as parish citizens of all ages to join in the happiness that’s infused an entire county.

Proud to be from Kerry and even prouder to be from Brosna. Come back soon, Sam. You bring joy wherever you go!
