Don chéad uair riamh bhí comortas físeán mar pháirt d’ fhéile Pádraig Uí Chaoimh. B’é an téama ná Oíche Shamhna.
Bhí an comortas nua eagraithe ag gníomhaithe teanga áitiuil Dánscoil Shliabh Luachra.
“Spreag sé suim ar leith i measc na déagoirí. Táimid ag súil go mór lena leithéid an bhlian seo chugainn,” arsa Deirdre Uí Chonchúir, urlabhraí Dánscoil Shliabh Luachra.
“Comhghairdeas ó chroí do dhaltaí An Phobal Scoil Oileán Chiarraí a bhuaigh an chéad ‘s an dara dúis. Ár mbuíochas do na múinteoirí a chabharaigh go mór leo,” arsa Deirdre.
Schools’ Video Competition 2023
For the first time, as part of the Patrick O’Keeffe Traditional Music Festival, a short film competition for schools with the theme of Halloween Night was organised by local language activists, Dánscoil Shliabh Luachra.
The competition carried prizes of €100 and a second prize of €50.
“There was quite a lot of interest in the competition from second level students and it is our sincere hope that this level of interest will continue next year,” said organiser’s spokesperson, Deirdre O’Connor.
“Congratulations to pupils of Castleisland Community College who scooped first and second prize!
A wonderful achievement. Sincere thanks to the teachers, Doreen Killington, Marion O’Sullivan and Principal Teresa Lonergan who helped in this endeavour,” said Deirdre.
