May Mass Celebrated by Fr. Spillane
A lovely mass was celebrated by Fr. Spillane at the Holy Well on Friday.
It’s wonderful that our Holy Well remains such a focal point of our community. The recent tarring of the pathway has added a polish that doesn’t detract from the natural and holistic experience of the pilgrim.
Thank you Fr Spillane and organisers who made this mass such a fitting tribute to St Moling.
Brosna Footballers on Song on Sunday
Brosna footballers were on song against Cromane on Sunday.
A very one sided encounter saw our boys put on a display of shooting, scoring and defending.
Paul Walsh bagged two goals and so many points that I actually lost count. Timmy Finnegan, Jamie O Sullivan, Conor Lane and not forgetting a sublime Maurice Lane added to the impressive score line. Brosna ended the game 4 16 to Cromane’s 1 7. There’s a real drive in the squad and a determination to get onto Div 3 pastures. Well done everyone.
Thought for The Week
We search for happiness in external experiences.
Parties, holidays, buying stuff, even a walk in nature. But happiness exists only within us. It’s like a room filled with golden light within our hearts.
The key to this room is turned when we partake in meaningful experiences. But if we are depressed, lonely, suffering or ill it’s as though the lock becomes rusted and that warmth and light cannot suffuse us. To keep that door well oiled it’s important to develop a practice of quiet meditation, mindfulness and reflection. It is in our relationship with ourselves that we replenish the light within.
